“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost” (1 Tim 1:15). I placed my faith in Christ in middle school, but walked away from my commitment. It was not until I had completely destroyed life years later that I understood what a real relationship with the Savior meant. By His grace and faithfulness, He protected me from myself and gave me a plan and purpose to serve Him.
My wife (Kathryn) and I have been attending Christ Chapel since 2006. We joined a small group early on and God began to work on my heart. I ended up leading our small group for a couple years and some occasional men’s Bible studies. I have a heart for pro-life issues and was asked to chair CCBC’s ForLife Initiative in 2012. Out of nowhere, I was invited to join staff in 2014. God called me out of the insurance and wealth management world into full-time ministry and I ‘like to think’ I bring some entrepreneurial spirit and 20 years of business experience into the world of ministry. (I started my first business when I was in 7th grade and I’ve had several careers (adventures) in my life, including 15 years as a professional DJ, promoter and label owner.) I love it because I get a front row seat to God’s work in the lives of others and our community. I describe my job as being a lot like surfing. Every day, I suit up and paddle into the waves. Every day is different just like every wave is different. I can’t believe I get to do this work!
Kathryn and I have two young children (7 and 9). We enjoy goofing off and activities like swimming. My wife is the most patient person I know.
